Our Programs & Approach

At En Fuego Hoops, we recognize the game of basketball as a bridge that can unite people from different backgrounds and cultures. Our mission is to use guided individual and team instruction to help young players maximize their potential on and off the court.

  • EFH Academy: Designed for school-aged players of all skills and abilities. These sessions offer fun, engaging environments for kids to sharpen fundamentals while emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle.
  • EFH Elite: A varsity-level program for players competing or aspiring to compete in high school and beyond. These sessions prepare athletes for the speed and intensity of high-level competition.
  • The EFH Approach: We provide players ages 5 and up with high-energy, fundamental instruction. Our programming is led by knowledgeable coaches who believe that sportsmanship, achievement, and fun are non-negotiable.

The Foundation: The Good Run

Founded in Vermont in 2014, The Good Run (DBA En Fuego Sports) serves as the engine for our youth sports outreach and community efforts. En Fuego Hoops is the global expression of that mission—dedicated to providing youth athletes with a place to play, inspirational mentorship, and the opportunity to experience the world through sport.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we translate our mission into action through three primary pillars:

  1. Access & Opportunity: We create and support amateur sports competitions and skill-building clinics internationally. While basketball is our primary language, we are committed to helping kids experience the joy of the game in all sports.
  2. Infrastructure & Equipment: We raise funds to rehabilitate local sports facilities, provide proper equipment, and secure safe spaces for kids to play.
  3. Community Partnership: We collaborate with local schools and youth organizations to identify needs and empower local coaches to lead from within their own communities.

EFH: The Beginning

En Fuego Hoops was born a long time ago on a loose gravel and dirt court in a driveway with a rickety hoop in Jericho, VT. Two older brothers, both hard and heroic in their own ways, drove me to work on my game—to get better, to improve. Those driveway sessions taught me that competition is fierce, and it can mold character. In that driveway, I learned that strength, skill, and the will to compete are forged by effort, grit, and determination.

That lesson informed my life from then on and instilled the values that define me. Coach Brink’s playing career culminated as an NCAA Division III starter and team captain at Castleton State College (now Vermont State University – Castleton). As a coach and educator certified in both Vermont and Florida, he has a dedicated record of helping youth discover their brilliance on and off the court.

En Fuego Hoops is an extension of that lifelong passion. Justin founded The Good Run to scale the impact of youth sports programs globally, drawing from his experience as an educator in the US and across the world—from Thailand, the Philippines, and Mexico City to Bogota, Bangkok, Manila, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Today, that same spirit lives on through En Fuego Sports. As the operating arm of our nonprofit mission, we’ve expanded our reach to provide gear, clinics, and support to athletes everywhere, ensuring every kid has the opportunity to experience a game that can change their lives.

Play like it’s your last day on Earth, Justin
